Coming from a background in law enforcement and having served as a volunteer Victim Advocate, Dr. Ramos witnessed firsthand how psychological wounds often go unseen—and untreated—within high-stress professions. She entered this field to bridge that gap. Finding herself driven by the need for culturally competent, trauma-informed care that speaks the language of first responders and acknowledges the complexity of their experiences. For her, becoming a psychologist wasn’t just a career shift—it was a continuation of service, just through a different lens.
Dr. Ramos joined Nicoletti-Flater Associates in 2026, drawn by the organization’s longstanding commitment to supporting first responders, law enforcement professionals, and public safety personnel. As retired law enforcement and former volunteer Victim Advocate, Dr. Ramos brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her work, offering a unique perspective on the challenges faced by high-risk professionals.
In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Ramos facilitates professional development workshops and training on topics such as suicide prevention, de-escalation, peer support, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. Dr. Ramos finds deep fulfillment in helping clients reclaim their sense of identity, strength, and purpose after experiencing occupational or personal trauma. She values creating a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, challenged, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.
Outside of her work at N-FA, Dr. Ramos enjoys traveling, exploring nature, listening to music, watching true crime and horror films, and spending quality time with her husband, children, and pets. She is also an avid reader, a foodie at heart, and remains committed to community service through volunteerism and mental health advocacy.
When Dr. Ramos isn’t continuing to serve her community, she enjoys being with her family, watching true crime and horror films, and exploring new food.
