Dr. Tran’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2012, followed by her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from the Rocky Vista College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado in 2016. Driven by a deep passion for medicine and mental well-being, she specialized in psychiatry after completing her medical studies, demonstrating unwavering dedication throughout her career.
During her residency at the University of Colorado, Dr. Tran excelled and completed the psychotherapy scholars track, gaining expertise in psychodynamic therapy. She continued to expand her knowledge with a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the same institution, becoming board-certified in general and forensic psychiatry. Beyond academia, she addressed the shortage of culturally competent psychiatric care for first responders in Colorado by establishing a private practice during her residency. She also consulted with police psychology groups, including Nicoletti-Flater Associates, highlighting her commitment to supporting the mental health of first responders.
Dr. Tran conducts a variety of forensic psychiatry evaluations, including court-ordered assessments for the State of Colorado Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health, independent medical evaluations, disability evaluations for the Fire & Police Pension Association, and workers’ compensation evaluations for first responders. Her diverse experience includes work in integrated care settings, an obsessive-compulsive disorder clinic, and the Mesa County Competency Enhancement Program, demonstrating her comprehensive skill set and community service.
In her practice, Dr. Tran emphasizes a compassionate, collaborative approach to psychiatric assessments, treatment, and forensic evaluations tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
